Choking and Nose Bleeds

Author: Shop First Aid   Date Posted:9 January 2016

Shop First Aid has a range of items that can be used in any accident such as choking and nose bleeds.Choking and nose bleeds are two very common accidents that happen to our children! Unfortunately they are also common accidents that adults do not know how to handle and treat.

In 2003, 11% of children's deaths were from chocking (ABS, 2005).  If your child is choking, lean them forward and give them three to five blows between the shoulder blades. Nose bleeds are also a very common accident. Do not lean your child’s head back to avoid blood on the carpet, this could be very damaging in the long term. Instead lean your child forwards and pinch their nostrils
